Resource Kit
I don’t know about you, but a new book in my hands is special. It feels like possibility and potential. Like newness and open doors. I may learn a little about what and who is going to meet me by its cover, but when I turn the page? The words open my world. No matter the take, the genre, or even how much or little I can relate -- there is something about words experienced through my own mind that makes it an experience of imagination and the wonder of my own vision. It’s why this book club means what it does to me. Know ing that each of you has your own experience and then watching us bring them together? I truly have the best job in the world.
Our book this month is going to take some of us back to what we shared in September. IYKYK ok?! Though I Stumble is an imaginative take on an experience of conferencing, connecting and coming together. (HEY WOMAN EVOLVEEEEEEEE!) The story takes the shared experience of a woman’s gathering and uses it as a vehicle to bring the various experiences of women into one place where they can share, heal, grow and experience the power of connecting to each other, and ultimately with the Father who knows and loves them best. After experiencing the resonance of a stadium of women in full surrender, serenading God with songs of his goodness and prayers of surrender I CANNOT wait to relive it through the eyes of the four women we’ll meet in these pages.
Kim Cash Tate, the brilliant author of this story, has a beautiful gift for writing the stories that hold a mirror to the human heart placed in God’s hands. She is an author, Bible teacher and speaker, and her knack for threading each part of her gift into the very relatable pages of this story is such a gift. She knows women well, and the way she threads our shared experiences and our differences is equal parts wisdom, deep sight and joy. I hope that energy fuels our discussions this month and invites us to honest tables where hard conversations feel safe.
It is never lost on me that our time together each month is deeply connecting as it is a joyous journey of discovering ourselves. What we read opens up how we see, where we go, and ultimately, helps us partner with God in designing who we want to become. Is that not incredible?
You are a gift to me, sis. I hope you always know that.
