Resource Kit

I’ve gotten to the point that I don’ t back down from many things. It’s less about trusting who I am, and wholly knowing that I am limitless because of who I serve. It’ s just that simple. I’ve seen what happens when we lean into and grab hold of the power of God -- literal miracles, signs and wonders. Perhaps there was a time that I did cower under the weight of opposition, when it was harder to see myself as God does. But these days, at the mere whisper of an enemy’s lie, I’ m ready to square up. And that’s on, no weapon formed against me shall ever prosper, ok?

But I know what it’s like to be tempted. When our pasts and the decisions we’ve made created a story that didn’t align with God’s best, or when the aftermath of an exposed secret hovers in the dark corners of our lives, we can run from every opportunity to tell a different narrative about who we really are. The idea of grace can seem like a floating fairytale or an untouchable gift. And yet -- it’ s there and ever present for us. What a beautiful and generous God we serve.

One thing about us around WEBC? Chilllle, we won’t perish for lack of knowledge. These reading journeys are to teach us and equip us. We’re learning the language and tools that enable us to partner with God in our own freedom and stand surely in the telling of our testimony. So we read and we share and we grow together. This month is no different.

The Soul of Shame, our May book, is as much a learning resource as it is a Spirit-breathed tool in helping us develop a system to overcome the threat of shame in our lives. Its incredible author, Curt Thompson is an educated and licensed psychiatrist who, through the lens of Jesus, provides us with insights about how the brain affects and processes trauma and relationships, all aimed to help people discover a fresh perspective and practical applications to foster healthy and vibrant lives, allowing them to get unstuck and move toward the next beautiful thing they’re being called to make.

There is an assignment attached to each of our lives. Powerful, life-giving, world shaking assignments. God said it and I believe it! And if I do nothing else, I will stand at the ready to ensure that we can actualize them and bring the Kingdom to earth, one woman at a time.
